About RIA Foundation
RIA Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the rights, inclusion, and independence of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Ghana. Our work is grounded in advocacy, empowerment, and community engagement, with a focus on creating sustainable, scalable solutions that expand access to opportunity and strengthen inclusive systems. Our initial programs are being implemented in the Eastern Region of Ghana, serving as a foundation for expansion into other regions across the country.
-
To advance the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Ghana through advocacy-led initiatives that promote dignity, independence, and equal opportunity.
-
A Ghana where persons with disabilities are fully included, represented, and empowered to participate equally in all aspects of social, economic, and civic life.
-
Inclusion: We ensure that every person, regardless of ability, is valued and represented.
Empowerment: We focus on building skills, confidence, and independence.
Advocacy: We engage communities and policymakers to drive systemic change.
Transparency: We operate with integrity, accountability, and responsible stewardship.
Dignity: We respect and uphold the rights and voices of all persons with disabilities.
Why RIA Exists
Across Ghana, many persons with disabilities continue to face systemic barriers, social exclusion, and limited access to education, employment, and essential services; not because of lack of ability, but because inclusive systems remain underdeveloped.
RIA Foundation was established to respond to these challenges through a phased, community-based approach. We are beginning our work in the Eastern Region of Ghana to pilot, refine, and strengthen our programs, with the goal of scaling successful interventions to other regions nationwide.
